I remember a few years ago we reported about vending machines/kiosks it would be deployed out in malls, electronics stores possibly even restaurants that produced an on-demand software and movie solution for your PDA. I've looked for the article, and I cannot seem to find it perhaps it is in our database when the web site was in its prior format :s . Anyway, engadget has an article about multi-format content vending machines and how in Japan they have gone live selling software, e-books and games. According to them, you pick the memory type card you use and place your money into the machine and out pops your new software for your Palm or Pocket PC. Not a bad way to get what you need when you're away from or WiFi connection or a docking cradle
