Brian over at bargainPDA reportedly got to listen to some inside info of some of the "loose lipped" HP reps over at CES this year. And what they had to reveal was that HP is working on redesigning the 6300 and the rz1715 modeled iPAQs. "Regarding the h6300 they have serious concerns over the keyboard implementation. I'm not sure why they thought a slide on echanism would be popular, but they've found that it's not. HP is working on both an integrated design and a more short term solution for current owners. The redone keypad promises to be less bulky and offer better input. On the rz1715 front, HP totally missed the mark. Within a few months we should see an update for their entry-level PDA. Details on both models are thin at best, but HP is definitely responding to what should have been a pretty obvious market reaction to these products. "
HP really is like a dog chasing it's tail at the moment.
They almost give me the impression that their Pocket PC business is inconsequential to them.
Pocket PC fans have been spitting out for as long as I can remember what they want in a Pocket PC. If HP don't listen they are at risk of going the way of Sony.
The whole rz1715 fiasco was a cynical attempt by HP to take the bottom end of the market. Now owners of those are stuck with a museum piece weeks after buying one.
My suggestion to HP - stop being led by predictive sales and start listening to the many PPC fans on this site and others who use them continuously.
