HP Tops Middle East Mobile and Desktop Market

If you are located in the Middle East or in Africa, odds are your choice of Pocket PC's will be an HP iPAQ. Yes, iPAQ units are the top sellers in that part of the world, controlling almost half the market share of the mobile market. They even boast a 55% increase in sales between Q3 and Q4 of this year in the region.
"HP’s leadership in the region is testimony to our commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions to the Enterprise, SMB and Consumer segments. HP has also captured the PDA market and is now an active player in the mobile phone industry. By introducing our new line of quadriband GPRS handhelds, namely the HP iPAQ h6340 portfolio, we are now a force to watch out for in the mobile phone arena.”
“Our figures across the region are impressive. In the United Arab Emirates, HP continues to lead the market across all form factors. Our market share for Q304 was 32% in the desktop space and 25.5% in the mobile space,” Schell added. "
