At the end of 6 months, the price would go up to a modest $1.99 a month Pretty good deal huh? "SBC Chief Executive Ed Whitacre is trying to sign up more users of Wi-Fi and high-speed Internet service to boost sales as local calling slumps.
SBC lost 558,000 consumer lines in the second quarter as subscribers switched to mobile phones or cable competitors. That cut local voice calling revenue by 6.3 percent to $5.23 billion.
Data sales grew 9.5 percent to $2.7 billion. " via Wi-Fi Networking News
