It's a little shallow for my taste, but if you are new to the Pocket PC and wanted a synopsis of what is out there, Pocket PC Magazine Judges compiled a list of what they found when they went digging for Internet and Multimedia Applications. Don't go there expecting too many descriptions, just about one paragraph per application. Who knows, you might find something new you had't heard of before. "The purpose of publishing these experts' comments is to give insights about a variety of programs, not necessarily to show how the judges voted. The winners and finalists of the 2003 Best Software Awards as well as information on the upcoming 2004 Awards can be found on our Web site (http://www.firstcoastnews.co...). For the sake of brevity, we've included only one judge's comment per product and edited each down to its essence.
Internet and multimedia applications are almost as popular with Pocket PC users as games, and our Best Software Awards judges had strong opinions about them. "
Pocket PC Magazine has once again proven to be only a 1/2 step ahead of the neophyte PPC owner. Their choices are bland, uninspiring, predictable, and unimaginative.
Their reluctance to recognize freeware (with only a rare exception) is obviously tied to the need to provide exposure to their advertisers.
Oh well... time to move along, nothing to see there.
