If you are looking for more info about what else is coming from HP in the form of iPAQ, brighthand has compiled a pretty good overview of what we can expect. "Reportedly, the company will be releasing in July a trio of iPAQs targeted at consumers.
The first of these is currently known only by its code name, Eastwood. With its $229 price, this will be a bare-bones model. It will run Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition on a 203 MHz processor and include 32 MB of RAM and 32 MB of ROM. Its 3.5-inch screen will be QVGA. It will have a single SD slot, and it won't come with a cradle.
The next model coming in July will be code-named Gable. This iPAQ will include a built-in 1.3 megapixel camera. It will run Windows Mobile SE on a 300 MHz chip. Gable will offer 64 MB of RAM and 64 MB of ROM. Its 3.5-inch screen will be QVGA."
So! it seems that the really meaty devices most people will want (barring price) won't be released until November time.
In my eyes it remains to be seen whether the Hx4700 or Hx2700 will still have that nasty touch pad (likely to have a really bad impact on my gaming pleasure )
Hopefully more information will start coming thick and fast before then.
So what's going on with the new Toshiba 830 and Asus machines?

To err is human, but to really foul things up you need a computer.
hmm, I got the impression that the new touchpad/D-pad was not a mechanical one, but an electro-static one. If so, I think that would be BETTER for gaming than the current mechanical/rocker style. I don't play games on my PPC because the d-pad is too imprecise and the buttons require too much force to depress.
I'm glad that the higher-end models apparently won't be out until November. WM2003SE is new, so it will be nice to see these lower-end models shake out the bugs in preparation.
The 4700 does indeed look very nice. I wonder what video chip and memory it's got? It will need at least 2 MB of video memory to handle VGA. I hope it's not some sort of shared memory scheme.

I'll have fun looking, but I'm pretty sure trying to coerce another one so soon would be an exercise in futility with the "maker of many lists".
That's a good thing though. That's why I'm with her.
These do look pretty sweet though.

I don't know about an electro-static touchpad, But I do know that if it's the same as a laptop touchpad then I'm looking elsewhere.
However I am already licking my lips in anticipation of the nice VGA games that should be coming out shortly.

Yup! I agree I've been stung before by purchasing a brand new device as it came out . I try to sit and wait a bit now, but I do have to add that it is a very difficult discipline, considering the (suggested) spec's of the new devices.

Good point, I don't want my apps 'n' games fighting having to fight for memory in my new $600+ device. I want some smoooooooth action, for my money .
