Smile New Camera Software for XDA Orbit?

I have an XDA Orbit and the camera software is awful - VERY slow to respond and really badly laid-out on-screen controls. The video facility is rubbish too - very blurred and out of focus. If you DO happen to get the right situation and get as good photo, the quality is great, so I assume the hardware is OK it's the software that is letting it down. Has anyone any experience of 3rd party camera software? Just to clarify, I'm not talking about photoshop style programs, I mean the actual CAMERA software! Joe.

XDA Orbit means an Artemis I presume. What ROM are you using? The shipped one? The newer WM6.1 will somewhat speed up starting of camera and whatever pocket pc you try the quality of picture is good only in day-light.

Regards,
Carty..

Rom: 3.4.206.2 Wwe

Yes, I think it is an Artemis underneath all the branding. My previous PDA was an SPV m1000 and the camera and video were MUCH better on that, so it's obviously not a generic issue with PDA cameras, just this model. ROM: 3.4.206.2 WWE (whatever that means). I have also installed a 2gb card for storage, have over-clocked the processor using Tomov and am running WinMob 6 (not sure if it's 6.1 - how do I tell?).
