Help Xv6700

I just got one from ebay and love it...however when i recieve a text, there is no name attached....just the first word of the text that was sent to me and when i send out a text, it pops up that the reciepient is unknown and do i wish to proceed.......
does anyone know what is the deal here??? I cant tell who the texts are from and its VERY frustrating!!!!

Is the person you are receiving the text from in your address book? If not, that is the problem.

yep. they all are. and when i send a text straight from the contact list, it still says "Cannot recognize one or more of the reciepients or the address is not valid. Would you like to send anyways?"

Hmm.. I am not sure why the name would not show on an incoming text if the person is in your address book. One idea on the sending (and not being recognized), I occasionally get an extra space thrown in and have to delete that (seems like once I do this for a given contact it does not happen for that person again). For example
<123-456-7891 >John Doe rather than
<123-456-7891>John Doe

strange. I usually only had that when someone called. that's only when I needed to restart my phone too
