iPaq doesn't recognize SD card

My iPaq 3870 has stopped recognizing my 1Gb SD-card. I think it happened after I did a back up on all my contacts to the iPaq's file store.

Any solution for this?

Have you tried to hard reset your ipaq. But before you do make sure you do backup it..

My 5555 did the same thing about a year ago. I pulled out the SD and if you look there will be small contact points on the metal pins of the card itself. Take a soft pencil eraser and clean those contact points off. This worked on mine.

reformat sd cards periodically

I was having this problem all the time (i.e., sd card not recognized), and SanDisk told me to frequently back up my sd cards and re-format them in a card reader attached to desktop pc. THis seems to keep them as good as new. By the way, the SanDisk sd cards have a long warranty period, so if one stops working, it's a good idea to give them a call. They replaced one of mine which had lost the tiny gray tab on the side (causing it to lock).
