I'm looking for a device that will allow me to browse the web, which has high quality audio. Where the internet is concerned this is what I would really like to be able to do (please tell me if this is realistic): I want to check my mail, do my banking online and everyday web browsing. I basically want a small device (If I don't need the bulk of a laptop I'd prefer to do without) which would replace my desktop, as I'll be living somewhere without internet access for the next few months. I want to be able to take this device to hot spots in my city.
I've been looking at an Archos 605 WiFi, an Axim, or an iPaq. Any suggestions?
I don't really listen to music on my PPC so I can't comment on which device would be best for that. I think as long as you have a good amount of memory and a decent processor this will be as much headphone driven as anything.
From an Internet standpoint you can do what you want but might find it cumbersome with PIE (Pocket Internet Explorer). Actually PIE is not likely to work with secure sites at all, although you can get around this. I use and like Opera Mini (free) BUT OM is not something I would use for online banking. For that you might want to try Opera Mobile (pay browser).
