ipaq rw6828 no sound

Hi
I've got a problem with my ipaq sound, after using either a wired headset or a bluetooth, there is no longer any sound from the keypad, phone answering/calling when I go to use the PDA normally. This has happened 2 times so far. The first I time managed to getting working after resetting the FM radio settings which was on headset only. This time I have no idea. Tried a reset, still no luck. Any ideas, Please.

Hi
yes, I had to phone the HP help line (which I found from their web site) and they informed me its a hardware problem and to send the ipaq off to a HP repairer. Its under warranty so cross fingers should be ok. Can't wait to get it back - repaired. They obviously know about the fault from other users as they did not question me on the fault in detail.
Hope this helps a bit, ggod luck

Hi dude! I had the exact same thing, and I panicked and lost my head (threatened to throw my pda out the window).

I called Customer care too and the guy told me to bring it in. But thankfully, I stumbled upon loads of forums with this problem as the subject, and I got a solution from one of them:

Could it be the famous headphone pin problem? Mine stopped working before as the pin gets stuck when I pulled out the headphone jack. Had to put it in and slowly and gently move left and right while withdrawing.

I tried doing exactly that, and IT WORKS PERFECTLY NOW!!!! The problem is that the headphone pins in the socket bend easily and when the two pins are bend into contact a short circuit is created. Thus not allowing any audio through the external speakers (except the ringing tone as this sounds whether headphones are in or out) because the ipaq thinks the headphones are plugged in.

This might exactly be the case. In total, I read around 30++ posts about the iPaq's sound problem. And it isn't limited to this model either: even the O2 atom has it.

TO EVERYONE WHO OWNS THIS PHONE: DON'T PLUG IN THE D**N HEADPHONES!

Hi! I purchased this model in January and I first started using it without the headset and it work perfectly..but after I plugged in the headset it didn't work anymore!

It seems this problem has happend to other people who own this device but what I did what just plug in and out the headset a few times and it's back to normal.

Give it a try. I hope it works for you!

tweeks to get it work

I assume this problem exists with all teh Ipaq's.

Insert the headset pin halfway into the jack and twist it left and right until you hear one or two click sound.

This trick helped me a couple of times...
