I know there are a lot of T-Mobile MDA users here. What do you think about the new T-Mobile Wing? Would you upgrade? or are you hoping T-Mobile will release Windows Mobile 6 for the MDA?
I am thinking of upgrading, but your comment that "we see a little more snap in processing" makes me wonder if the upgrade is worth it... I was hoping to get a more powerful processor and more internal memory...
So, please tell us... is the change worth the $$$ ???
I recently purchased the Wing. I never had the MDA, and I am very new to PPC technology in general. So far I like it. A couple things I've noticed. The program memory is quite low. Total allocated is about 44MB, but there seems to be anywhere from 38 to 40MB in use, even when I have all programs shut down. I can only use the camera if I shut it down and then turn it back on, and that is short lived. Also, the data connection is flakey. I have an "over the air" program called "Good" in order to get corporate e-mail. Not sure if that has something to do with either of the issues I mentioned. Any suggestions are welcome.
i will stick to my wizard. my cousin has a wing and i am not that impressed. my mda has all the features and more and still runs faster. the only thing that impresses me is the fact that it is a new fone and has a new look thats it nothing more. plus it is over priced
The Wing is a phone nigntmare. this is nat a phone that should get an 8 of10. the scrren is slow, the programs are slow, the dexterity is horible, the screen is not visible in the daylight. I have turned off all the programs in an attempt to speed up the phone. i bought the phone so that the functions would work for me, turning them off is a joke!!! I gave up the blackberry 8800 to my wife for this piece of shit! I have voiced my concerns with t-moble. They are obviously aware of the issue because there was no resistence for the return, even after the 14 day time limit had run out. All I can say is, pick another phone.
I'm back. There are some good sites that have recommendations on registry edits and overclocking plugins for the T-mobile Wing (amoung other devices). This site is a blog of someones experience using the Wing and making updates - My Digital Life. He points to many useful utilities like "Total Commander" that makes it possible to do registry edits. Since I haven't been doing this long, nor a member of this forum, many might have already been to this sight and know these resources are available. Anyway, I'll continue to check back in here for any additional suggestions from the members, or ifI find something new, I will share it here. It's funny how "into" learning and using this PPC is to me.
