02 Xda Orbit and storage card bug?

Hi,

Ive got an 02 Xda Orbit, and a 2gb micro flash card installed. It has WM5 installed.

Ive uploaded many an item to the phone, and the files transfer fine. Ive transferred using the data cable and by taking the card out and putting it in a card reader.

My issue, is that after a while of the files being on the card (this is only an issue with the files stored on the card), I cannot navigate using the file explorer to the folders and files. Instead I am viewing trash folders such as gfucreg
ihifh
*&$Łnyd93
f4n8-m0
48-m3
0)nU30C
and if i turn on the "view all files" function, i get hundreds more! some have files sizes of 20mb, some have sizes of 4-5GB!

now some of the files im looking for are music mp3's and ive previously playlisted them to play with TCMPC's core player... the music plays fine! The files are still on there, but you just can't navigate to them

If i try to delete the random files or folders i get an error... the folder is a system folder are you sure, and cannot remove folder acess is denied.

Ive a feeling that somewhere along the way the files roots are being deleted and replaced with dummy files!

This only seems to appear shortly after activesyncing, but ive turned off all autoupdates now!

Is this a hardware problem or a software? Is it heard of?
