- the IPAQ doesn't appear to have a stopwatch. Am I wrong about this? If I'm not, is there an aftermarket software program I can download for it?
Edit: there are stopwatch functions on the downloads section. Haven't been able to get any to work just yet.
- I have had the unit a week and I have lost the stylus. Do any other common styluses work for this model?
Edit: bought three o2? Atom styluses this morning. Work a treat.
- I can't get the alarm to ring in the morning for any longer than a short ring as though a message has arrived. It repeats itself every so often, but this is not enough. Are there any ways of improving this? I could beam a good tune from my old phone if anyone knows how I could set up the tune as my alarm.
Edit: have managed to get the notification to repeat itself, and have even transferred my favourite alarm song from my old phone (thanks Murduck), but while I am given the option of using this file for incoming calls, I am not given the option of using it for alarm notifications. Shame.
- when I use the speaker phone function, nobody seems to be able to hear me. Is this normal?
- my Clie address book has been turned on its head. What used to be Cam & Kate is now "& Kate, Cam" which is quite annoying. Can I change this?
I don't mean to sound overly negative, the unit is good in a number of respects. But I'm hoping that I can come to terms with these teething problems.
I can help you answer some questions. stopwatch. we also have a lot of clocks in the downloads page. I'm sure one of them has a stopwatch feature. Stylus - any stylus should work. The speaker phone issue.. How far are you holding it away from your mouth? It might be difficult to hear your voice to the other party because of other noise in the background.
SPB Time which is a quality application in it's own right which has a good stopwatch function built in.
The contacts in WM5 store and display names in Last, First name basis. If you go in to edit this contact you will probably find that when imported over it has done Cam & Kate as Last, & Kate - First, Cam.
Now I know my address book in outlook is the same. I also know that if I go into edit the properties of a contact in outlook I can change the "file as" option from & Kate, Cam to Cam & Kate but I don't know if that changes what appearsin the contacts on the PPC, maybe someone could advise?

I think you'll find the PocketPC format has a lot of quirks and annoyances.
That's where the third-party support comes in: For instance, I use Pocket Informant for all my calendar / contact / task / note duties. It really steps leaps and bounds over the default PPC interfaces.
As for your alarm issues, I use Phone Alarm for all my sound settings. It also allows you to set different profiles and switch between them with one click. I just noticed that the developer of Phone Alarm also has a program called Alarm Today - that may be what you're looking for.
Unfortunately, none of these programs are free, and most of them have a pretty steep learning curve. The good thing, though, is that they have strong support from both the developer and the user community. I encourage you to try them out - almost all programs include a fully-featured, time-limited trial version!
Hi All - A newbie to this forum with the purchase of a RW6828 this arvo.
All is good with it except for one thing - the wifi.
We have a Netcomm NB5Plus4W wireless modem that is working fine (am typing this post on my laptop thru it & the Wii in the backroom is also connected to it) so all is good with it.
On the the 6828 I can turn on the wifi in Wireless Manager, it sees the Modem & asks for the Network Key & connects happily with the little antenna with arrows at the top of the screen also confirming all is OK.
However.......
When I try to connect to any site via Internet Explorer, whether it be the included HP sites or just plain Google, it says Connecting (for about a second), then Locating (for about 30secs) then tells me thst "The page cannot be displayed or downloaded because the connection was lost. Check the connection and try again later."
I check the wifi & it tells me it is connected with my modems name displayed. So what's the go?????
I do note that in the Configure Network Authentication menu, my Network Key isn't just the 10 digits I previously entered, but it is now 13 & no matter how many times I type back in the correct 10, after saving & coming back, it's back to the 13.
So I'm not sure if it is due to this longer (re-entered by the PDA from hell where) Network Key which if it was wrong wouldn't tell me that I was connected in the first place OR that there is another problem elsewhere.
Sorry for the long post, but I figured I'd put all the detail in so that there would be no questions - & BTW, I have searched both this site & the net for some info on this problem, but if I've missed a whole thread on it, my humble apologies!
