By "these programs" do you mean just ActiveSync 4.1? Let us know!

Hi Fatty,

Try the following as ActiveSync 4.1 uses TCP/IP it sometimes causes a conflict:

Connect the Pocket PC to the PC, and allow ActiveSync to connect

Go to Start > Control panel > Network Connections

Under LAN connections, there should be an entry for your network card, and a new one, for your PPC

Select the one for the PPC (by trial-and-error, right-click and select 'Properties') - You need to find the one marked "Windows Mobile-based Device".

Untick 'Client for Microsoft Networks' and 'File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks' and then click 'Ok'

Also read through paying particular attention to the part about allowing ports through firewalls.
ActiveSync Help & How Tos

Let us know how you get on.

Me Too

I think I have the same problem. I have a new Vaio and when I sync my Axim x51, I can connect to the Axim, but the Axim can't connect to the internet. The system works fine on my desk top. My Vaio is running XP Pro. I tried iain0's suggestion to:
Select the one for the PPC (by trial-and-error, right-click and select 'Properties') - You need to find the one marked "Windows Mobile-based Device".

Untick 'Client for Microsoft Networks' and 'File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks' and then click 'Ok'

but this didn't work.
I couldn't make much sense out of the references you suggested.

I'm stumped and don't know what to do.
