Question What's wrong with my ipaq5455?

I have an ipaq 5455 that I just got off Ebay. I immediately pluged it in and charged it to see if it worked properly. It worked great and I was convinced that I got a great deal!
A week later. I plugged it in to the wall to charge it. Then for some unknown reason when I unplugged it from the wall It just shut off! But it worked when it was Plugged in.
So naturally I thought that it must have something to do with the battery, so I switched the battery with the one from my ipaq5555, which I knew for sure was fine and it still shut off when I unplugged it. Also the battery that was taken out of the ipaq5455 worked perfectly fine in the ipaq5555.
The only thing that I have done that may have contributed to this problem is I might have used the wrong kind of charger. I thought that all ipaq batteries were 3.7Volts but it seems that some are 5.0Volts and when I examined the chargers that I was using they were both different.
Someone, Anyone, HELP!
