It may sound crazy to even compare the two, but read on and you'll see exactly WHY a 2gig memory card is better than a 300gig hard disk...
Now to keep this simple I rounded all the figures down from 1024 to 1000. This doesnt really effect the outcome because both stats will be off by the same percentage.
Ok, Your 300gig harddisk is 300,000 Megabytes. In your pc, the average program is 250mb, and your average game is 2gig. This means you can fit approx 1,200 Apps and 150 games.
In the other corner, your 2gig mini sd card tucked snuggly inside your pocket pc is a mere 2,000 megabytes, which is 2,000,000 Kilobytes. Now, the average pocket pc program is 200kb, and the average game is 2mb. This means you can fit about 10,000 programs and 1,000 games!!!
In summary -
300Gig Hard Disk - 1,200 Apps / 150 Games
2Gig Memory Card - 10,000 Apps / 1,000 Games
In short, the memory card statisticaly rules the roost as best value for around £50-70.
Nope I havent forgotton. The point was not that the programs and games availiable for the pocket pc are better, its that a 2gig memory stick can do more for a pda then a 300gig can for the pc. Apart from complilers and 3d packages, theres isnt really any app that couldnt be made for the pda, as for games, I dont play em so who cares? The only ones I do play are emulators and roms, on my pda =P
