It seems like we’ve embarked on some sort of contest of who can cram the most “stuff” into the smallest device. VIPN actually has a countdown indicating not only the days, hours, minutes, and seconds, but you even have milliseconds to extract every ounce of anticipation of their new AXIA 308. So what’s so special about this device that it would have a countdown dedicated to it? For one, AXIA 308 is supposedly the world’s smallest Pocket PC…yes folks, you read it right…this baby sizes at 113.3 x 48.8 x 20.8mm and doesn’t skimp out on the features. AXIA 308 will run on Windows Mobile 5 and an Intel PXA272 CPU 416MHz processor. If that’s just a drop in the bucket for you, then how about quadband GSM/GPRS w/ EDGE, 802.11b WiFi, Bluetooth 1.2, IrDA, 1.3megapixel camera w/ flash, miniSD slot… and for the “world’s smallest Pocket PC”, 2.2” 262K color LCD touchscreen is pretty neat… oh, and did I mention that it has VoIP SIP integrated? Yeah… it does.

Great write up Jane -- I can't wait to see it in person. On a similar note, it appears that mini SD is taking over the world. Please, take it over.
