I just received the new PPC 6700 from Sprint! I love it
Now I am looking for a nice case and a good head set (2 ear),
any suggestions?
Thanks!
Jurgen A.
Hi Sputnik, welcome to the forums!
I'm, not sure about cases for the 6700, but there are others around here who have that device, I'm sure you'll get an answer for that soon.
As far as a stereo headset with a microphone, I've tried a couple. One by Jabra, which I found at Staples for $35. I'm sorry I don't remember the model, but if you go there, it's the only one with 2 earpieces. Anyway, the sound was pretty good on it and it was fairly comfortable. They hooked over the back of your ear to keep them in place, and were a wee bit bulky for my taste. This one includes an adapter for you to use it in an mp3 player as well, so you can use it in a 2.5mm or 3.5mm jack.
The one I decided to go with tho, I found at CompUSA for $15. The reason I chose it was the fact that it has the in ear canal type buds, rather than those huge hard things on some other ear buds. I find them really uncomfortable! The biggest problem with this is that the mic is far away from your mouth...you'll have to remember not to have it in your lap and move it up when you talk. The brand on it is Fone Gear. It also comes with a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter.
I am not aware of any bluetooth stereo headsets that have a mic just yet...but I imagine they will come up with something eventyally.
Hope this helps!
hi
great info on the ear piece. Thank You!
35 bucks is not too bad.
the ear piece that comes with the PPC 6700 is ok I guess but
I am definitely going to invest into a better one.
the PPC 6700 case protects the PPC ok but is not very practical
since you can't use the PPC while it is in the case, so evertime
you need to make a call or look up some info you'll have to take
it out the case completely. Really awkward when you are on the
street.

I've had my 6700 since December and in my area (NE Ohio), there are still no accessories available specifically for the 6700, not even at the Sprint stores. Your best bet is online. There a tons of sites. Boxwave is good. I got an 1800 mAh battery at www.letstalk.com by UTStarcom made just for the 6700. It lasts soooo much longer than the standard battery, I paid 59 plus shipping. Its so much bigger tho that a new back piece had to come with it. I have since seen sites with the same battery with the silver back. A battery should be a priority. I know you want quick access with a case but the only cases I've seen are online and seemed to be the same style. I had my phone drop out of my case and hit the concrete. After the third time and some scuff marks I needed a solution. I know this will sound like a fruity fanny pack but I bought a small digital camera case. It's only about twice the size of the regular case and it slips throught the belt instead of strapping on. It has a main compartment and two small ones. In the main one I keep the phone and my headsets. (No quick access but a quick zipper so about same as regular case. In the front compartment I keep my Plantronics Bluetooth (and a mini chapstick tube, a tiny reath freshener, and some medication(yeah). In the rear compartment I keep my 1350 mAh battery and backing as well as some change. Two of my friends who have a 6700 and a Treo thought it was cool and boght similar ones. But I know that's not what you want. For headsets and cases the web is your best bet, Too many sites to name - just Google. Good luck!
