CNET reviews the Sprint PPC-6700. Looks like they like it for the most part, but there are some downfalls to the device.
<div>The good: The Sprint PPC-6700 features a spacious QWERTY keyboard, three forms of wireless (EV-DO, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth), and the latest OS, Windows Mobile 5.</div>
<div>The bad: The bricklike Sprint PPC-6700 has some downfalls, including a nonstandard memory slot, no voice dialing, and somewhat sluggish performance. The LCD is also impossible to read outdoors, and it's easy to press the side buttons accidentally.</div>
<div>The bottom line: Although far from perfect, the Sprint PPC-6700 is definitely smarter than most smart phones and almost good enough to earn the title of Treo killer.
I have one and for the most part it is great device - replaced my Dell Axim. No longer have to carry two devices. Works great with Exchange Service Pack 2 -
WM 5.0 is somewhat of a disappointment - but that is due to MS lack of support.
Keith,
How is the reception in CA? I have Sprint as well, and have some trouble with the reception in the Anaheim area on occasion.
Also, what kind of talk time do you get? And, does the BT let you connect to a laptop, or have they crippled that as well?
This is my 4 or 5th Sprint phone - as a phone it is great, one of the best. BT works better then on 325 - and it connects to my laptop (I never use it though - have everything on the 6700.
Talk time and battery life is the weakest part - I get about one day's use or less - but I get 300 e-mails a day and I sync on new mail. I have a car charger and portable and will be getting a second battery.
