According to Mobileburn.com, what you are looking at is a new low-power WiFi chipset from Alps that uses only 1 Milliwatt of power compared to some other chipsets that use up to 50 Milliwatts -- imagine the battery savings! But don't get too excited. The new chipset isn't out yet and it will be initially developed for Cellphones -- though Pocket PCs should follow. "The Alps Electronics company has started production of a 802.11b chipset that is much smaller and less power hungry than previous chips. This new chip measures just 11mm x 13.7mm x 1.8mm and is designed specially for portable devices."
