Does anyone know if there is a way to directly access a portable hard drive with a pocket PC. Or if a 40-80GB storage device for pocket PCs exists.
Thanks
M
hmmm...let me look back. Seems to me there was a "Storage brick" solution which would connect a small Laptop harddrive to a Pocket PC using a USB connector through a compact flash card.
I'm sure it's been done.
I've got an AUDIOVOX Smartphone (PDA-2032) which is basically an older Toshiba Pocket PC PDA with a verizon wireless modem attached...
It's got an SD card slot and an interface for connection to a PC via a cradle.
I am looking for some low cost (as in not $1,000 SD cards) way to connect it to at least 10GB of storage. I don't really care about physical size. It's going to be stationary and used to play music.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Patrick
I seem to remember reading a link on a website about connecting a PPC (Ipaq, I think) to a pc card via a sleeve the card could then be connected to a harddrive of virtually any capacity.
Although I doubt if that helps you guys. Update
Okay dokey,
After a bit of searching I think I found the original thread over on IpaqHQ, that I'd read discussing PPC's and harddrives, Hopefully it will be a little more useful.
I think it extends to any devices that can hold CF cards. pcmcia or usb hdd with h2210??
