Hello there,
I happaned to be in Hong Kong and went to the top 2 computer shopping arcades to grab a ipaq 4150. I went through about 10 shops, all out of stock.
One of them were kind enough to tell me that, (good tip) this usually happens when they expect a price drop so none of them stocked any and they are all waiting. This also explains why the main stores are giving away a 128mb sd card on any ipaq purchase. I am leaving this place on the 26th and eagerly wanting to pick one up while I am in HK.
So any news anyone?
PS. I was lucky enough to see the new sony th55 and was wondering why can't pocketpc have a half vga 320x480 screen!
That's a good question. I haven't heard of any overall price drop. But the competition is really heating up it appears - competition usually means better pricing. I'd be anxious to know if you do get an ipaq in Hong Kong and if you get a smoking deal.
As far as the half screens go, I think PPC users are wanting "more screen" not less the Toshiba e805 is good evidence of that.
Correct me if I'm wrong people!
it's sort of a 2sided thing. Yes the VGA from toshiba is great, but what about pocketability? On the other hand a 320x480 is still very pocketable, just a lil longer. On landscape it's enough to light up a webpage
