Kingston 512MB Secure Digital Card $135 at eCost.com

I'm posting this from Chicago O'Hare airport where it is -20 degrees and snowing...I'm on standby to get the next flight outta here! (How's this for dedication! :P )
eCost.com has the Kingston 512MB Secure Digital Card for $139 - $10 rebate [Exp 1/31] + $6 handling = $135 with free shipping.
The SanDisk 512MB Secure Digital Card is availble at Buy.com for $140 + shipping using this $10 off $100 coupon [Exp 1/31].
Forgive me if there are errors...I'm connecting over my cell phone and it's a bit slow.

uhhh -20 ??? I am afraid! I am very afraid
Nice post, I took the liberty of editing in the ecost page where you can add the card to your shopping basket if you want to buy one. But good news from a cell phone
BTW, anyone know if these Kingston cards are any good? I may never get my card back from Sandisk

Finally home.

I finally got home to Philadelphia..."There's no place like home, (click my heels) there's no place like home (click my heels) there's no....." ahhh forget it....you get the picture... 8-)
Anyhoo, I have one of these Kingston 512MB cards and I think I may never go back to Sandisk again. And here's my main reason.. I own/have owned a bunch of Sandisk cards (I'm looking at a dead 128mb card right now) and every time that I have used my Sandisk card reader the card would just go "dead"... I mean unformattable (is that a word?) and my PPC would pop up an error 31 disk not recognizable. Remember this happens only when I used my Sandisk Card reader SecureMate SDDR-33 (this is foreshadowing.... :P ).
So on Tuesday (shhhh, I'm whispering) I used DVD to Pocket PC to rip "Pirates of the Carribean", "Seabiscuit" and "Office Space". When I was finally done the total size of the three movies was 400+ mb.... So I started to use ActiveSync to copy the movies to my PPC....(Did I mention I was in uhhhh...ummmm... Indonesia when I used DVD to Pocket PC )...Well, using activesync was looking to take about 20 hours to copy the three movies....so I'm looking at the SecureMate and then back at Activesync...thinking....
(on my left shoulder) "Broil, you're not thinking of using that thing, it will kill your 512MB card and then where will you be?"
(on my right shoulder) "Come on BK, this is taking way too long...go ahead use the SecureMate and you'll be done in minutes. WIMP."
--WIMP -- Ohhhhh that's it! Noone, and I MEAN NO-ONE calls me WIMP, not even me! :P So...I used the card reader with the movies and "Voila" it took a couple of minutes to copy everything over to my PPC. (Oh, did I mention I was in Canada .....I mean.... Indonesia when I did all this.. )
No problems with the Kingston card! That's my 4 cents on the subject. You got an extra 2 cents because I like ya! :P

Welcome back BK, Sounds like it was grueling.
Yeah, I don't think you'll have much luck copying movies to a storage card via Activesync. Usually, that type of manuver fails. So the card reader is definately the way to go
So were people peeping over your shoulder on the plane as you watched your movies? I've always wondered if I took a movie on the plane whether people would stare...
Hows the weather in Indonesia anyway?

Yup...both legs of the flight (out and back) the flight attendants asked "Hey, are you watching movies on that?" and "what is that? is that some kind of new device, is it a palm?" NO -- it IS NOT a palm....bite your tongue. :P So I showed them that it was a PPC and it is over 2 years old...and how cool it is.... and how cool I am.. :P
