Pocket PCs: The Wi-Fi Generation

PCWorld.com did a review and comparison of three PPCs. The Ipaq 4155, Ipaq 4355 and the Dell Axim X3i.

The Ipaq 4155 has been on my radar screen but the author of this article gives the Axim a slightly better score due a simpler backup utility and a better price.
(Funny, price never enters my mind when shopping for a PPC....I think that's why my wife gets soo mad.. :P )
Read the article here.

Another Suggestion

If money is not an obstacle the stateof the art Pocket PC is the Toshiba e805, with 128MB RAM, 4" VGA display, CF & SD slots, built-in 802.11b Wi-Fi, etc. It is selling for only $545 delivered at Datavis.com Check it out. You will not be disappointed. It also includes the OEM version of MS Voice Command, a $40 program for free!

Thanks for the heads up morphscott, I didn't realize it had MS voice command included. I certainly hope Toshiba does a better job of supporting these devices than they did with the earlier e750s etc. A lot of people became unhappy after purchasing those.

The toshibas are so square looking

The toshibas are so square looking. I do like the way the Ipaqs look, especially when you take it out at a meeting... the "wow" factor.... but you've brought up a good point...I need to add the toshiba to my list..I want to see the 640 x 480 screen in person before I make a decision. Is the Voice Commander really that good of an application?

Haven't tried it. But I've heard that the people who have average American voices can get it to do all sorts of nifty stuff and really like it.

My main thing with that type of software is whether I'd ever get $40 worth of use out of it. Sure it's got a great "gee whiz" factor, but what else to use it for?
