New PDA running Windows Mobile 5 or 6, and have UMTS connectivity

Hello

I'm thinking of getting a PDA, which has to have these following preferences:
Running windows mobile 5 or 6
Have some kind of bulit HSDPA modem (not external).
Wifi b/g
Good battery time

What is a normal battery time for this? I'm thinking of using it for surfing a lot and other internet-based applications, so i'd be using the UMTS net a lot (and the wifi when at hotspots). And, when surfing on a PDA, how does it look like? Is it as on a laptop, just smaller, or is it like surfing with WAP?

Another question. I understand that the PDAs in these days are actually more advanced smartphones. I already have a cell phone, so i wouldn't be using the PDA to make calls. Actually, that would be unpreferable, cause i'm going to need long sessions of UMTS using (i'm trading with forex and other things over the web) that shouldn't be interrupted (which i understand that phone calls do to the connection). Maybe there is an option for deactivating phonecalls?

And one more question; how reliable is the connectivity normally? Is it as good as a 3G phone or worse? As I said, since i'm trading stocks over the internet, i'm gonna need a reliable connection.

Well there are quite a few options out there and you might want to wait until Barcelona is over because alot of manufacturers will unveil their products there.

Battery time depends on usage. In your case, I doubt it would last for more than half a day if you were constantly surfing the web.

As for display, it would depend on the browser you use. Some will show a small version while others, like WAP.

Connection wise, it would depend on the carrier. Can't really comment on that. But if you were comparing the same carrier, it should be about the same.

Okay, that's interesting. I'm actually not very fond of WAP-like surfing, i like to see it as it should be seen.

Interesting points though about the battery time.

Well you do realize that when I mean surfing constantly, what I mean is that your device is constantly connected to the web right? If you take breaks in betwee, you will be able to prolong the life.

As for browser outlook, you can try Opera Mini which gives you a nice overview like PC surfing. Or you can wait for Opera Mobile 9.5 which was announced yesterday and should be released soon and that too has PC like browsing. And SkyFire, another recently announced browser, is another browser you want to keep a lookout for.

Well, i mean being constantly connected to the UMTS net. As i said i use trading programs that download basic data from servers to keep some charts updated. It's maybe 1 MB per day at the most
