wondering about wireless possibilities

Hello all. I am new tp pocket PC so please be easy on me!
I have a fair understanding of pcs. I build them. But I have never had anything that is wireless, so I do not have a lot of knowledge about that. Which brings me to me problem. I have a phone very similar to the E-Ten m600 / m800. If I am plugged into my pc I can sign on MSN and use the internet on my phone (without access fees). As soon as it is unplugged i can not. The wireless manager only has GSM, Bluetooth and all off. The following is listed in the network card section:

MS null ethernet miniport driver
L2TP NDISWAN miniport
AsyncMac NDISWAN miniport
PPTP NDISWAN miniport
Virtual Ethernet Intermediate Miniport
Remote-NDIS Host
NE2000 Compatible Ethernet Driver

Now is there something that has to be activated, or does this phone not have wireless lan capabilities?

thanks very much for the help.

I guess you have the Pharos (or something like that)? If that is the case, it should have WiFi built-in. The thing I am curious about is that how come your Wireless Manager does not the WiFi option. Mine does (I am using the Eten GLofiish X500) and I know of users using the M600 who does too.

It does look similar to the pharos, but not exactly.

Thats what I am wondering about the wireless manager. I was hoping that I was just something that had to be activated.

also I am on Fido / rogers pay as you go. if that matters.

Nah it does not really matter which carrier you are using because it should be activated. Unless your carrier removed the option.

i wish i could tell you..i am fairly competent on pcs. and I know how to use google, but I can not find this exact phone online.

it is an e-ten, or the software is all them. it s splash screen says the m800, but internal descriptions mark it as m600. it runs wm 5.0

other than taking a picture and posting it i can not describe it. it is more rugged and rectangular than the eten m600 that google finds...
even that one has wireless!

please people help!

tell me where to get the info that you need and I will post it

thanks

Remove the back cover and battery on your device and there should be a sticker telling you the name and model of the device.

From your description, your device should have WiFi so I am not sure why it is missing.
