I recently received a HP iPaq hw6515a Mobile Messenger phone (basically a Cingular HP Pocket PC smartphone). Without making a backup, I went and downloaded the ROM Update off of HP's site and went to install it.
Half way through the installation, an error message popped up, and now my iPAQ is unusable. When the device is powered on, a screen is displayed with the HP logo, and the text "USB" and "v0. 21"
Any sort of reset does no good, other than removing the battery. When I remove the battery and put it back in, the phone restarts with the standard Pocket PC configuring stuff, such as the align screen program. But after this is finished and I am at my Today screen, HP loads its automatic configuring tool, and when that tool is finished installing a bunch of CAB files, the device goes back to the USB v0. 21 screen. Interestingly enough, it displays the text "USB" when plugged into the sync cradle and "Serial" when not. Please help! I have an SD card handy if that can be used to somehow start a ROM restore. Thank you!
