Well, my 8525 was stolen, so I decided to re-up my contract and get a c810 since it seems to be smaller and does everything (I think) that I want it to. There's just one little thing...
I seem to be unable to add a custom ringtone. I hook the phone up to my laptop, Drag an MP3 into the Windows folder (I've also tried \windows\sounds and \my documents\my ringtones) but the file that I've put there does not come up as an option for a ringtone. I can play it with Media Player, so I know it's there... I'm starting to fear that they crippled the phone so that it can only use 'ringtones' downloaded from AT&T. I really hope that's not the case...
so far, my google-fu has failed me. anyone know?
*edit: I'm not sure if it's WM6 or the phone that's dragging me down... find it hard to believe it would be the hardware... maybe i asked in the wrong spot...*
ARGH. For the $ it cost, I would expect it to not be gimped like that. I can't even select a 'non-ringtone' sound that shipped with the device (like an alarm sound) as a ringer.
In fact, I can't set any 'non-alarm' sound as an alarm sound. Lame.
