Need Help Bad.

Hi Everyone, I'm new to this forum, my 8125 will only power up and get stuck on the cingular power on screen with the following message.

IPL 1.08
SPL 1.08
GSM 01.09.11
OS 1.8.11.1

It is just stuck here on this screen I can not get past it. Can you tell me how to master reset or what I will need to do so that I can get into the phone to start trouble shooting it.

Thanks

Try a manual Hard reset. Hold down the Voice Command button and the CommMGR button at the same time and insert the stylus into the reset hole.

You need to try to upgrade the rom if performing a hard reset does not work. First what caused this, did it just one day stop booting? Well what you need to do is download the most current rom from cingular its 2.25 and you need to active sync your device run the RUU program and follow the directions completely, if you make a mistake with this process you will brick your phone. Heres the download link.
HTC: Support: Cingular 8125 Software Downloads

Also if this doesnt fix your phone then you have a real issue, Your radio is corupt and you can try another radio but this is an example of a type of brick and to bring it back from this state is a real issue, lots of headaches well keep us posted

I can not get active sync to read the phone. I try connecting it with no sucess. I am able to get to the green, blue, red, white screen though. And it does show the USB at the bottom left but active sync will not pick up the phone. And you are correct the phone just stopped working one day. Out of no were.

well you dont need to be activesynced to do a rom upgrade, it helps but not a necessity. just download the above mentioned rom and hook up your phone with the bootloader screen and then run the program, Please make sure you follow the on screen directions. keep us posted

I have tried that option and my phone is still not being recognized at all. And reason that you know that your phone would not be recognized at all?

Ok you need to have activesync installed. Then you will need to put your phone into bootloader screen. Its green, red, and blue. Once you do this connect the device, it will not activesync why because its not in a windows mode. Ok once this is accomplished you need to run the rom. please check out this thread if your still having issues i just helped someone reflash there device.

Thanks for all you help with that. I finally got the phone to boot. But now I am having a problem that I had originally had with the phone screen freezing up and fading out. Can you help me determine what is causing this and what I can do to fix this.

What do you mean by fading out, the color of the screen fades? Also shipped roms are known to be unstable so you might think about updating it to WM6 which would require you to cid unlock the phone. Which is another thread completly.

I upgraded the ROM to 2.25.11.1. That is the current ROM out right? As far as the screen it just fades to a white screen and just locks up. Or the phone just locks up at time and I'll have to take the battery out or do a soft reset to get past the freeze.

Well to do a softrest hit the reset button on the side of the device with your stylus. And as far as the rom no Tmobile has a 2.26 rom out that is way more stable, a real big difference. But you would need to cid unlock the device to install it. Also once cid unlocked you could install WM6 which dominates these shipped roms. Now that being said Im not sure whats wrong with you phone. Why the screen fades out or what.

If you cant figure it out PM me. I do repairs and if I cant fix it I take trade-ins.

replace the hardware. lol
sry ok it depends on what the issue is, I would think that it probably has to do with the gpu of the phone seeing how its the display. What I would do is replace the motherboard. If all else failed.
Did you cidunlock it and run the tmobile rom?

You cant really order a motherboard, I have a few but I use them for making repairs so there not really for sale. I mean I could sell one but I would charge the same as if I replaced it for you. Try the other rom first after you cid unlock it and let me know how it goes.

Wow well thats a large request I have not really gone into cid unlocking much in this forum, I really just havent had the time. It also seems that this is a rather small forum one of the reasons I like it so much, as to say how many people are novice compaired to some not so novice. Ive been here almost a month, thursday will be a month. So far Ive only noticed about a dozen or so members that are real active in this forum so Ive been lying low on the whole cid unlocking process as this will bring Im sure lots of question. How ever I will help you and others with this process, I will do a cut and paste job to save time.

I have performed all of those steps and I have installed the Tmobile Rom 2.26 and that is up and running and everything but It does not fade out or freeze as much but it is still doing this. I don't have a SD card in there do you think that lack of memory could be causing this problem?

Also it take a while for the phone to reset I have to take the battery out and leave it out for a few minutes before I can put it back in the phone and the phone will reboot and then when I reboot the phone I have to reset the time again. All other setting that I have remain but the time is the only thing I am having to reset. Weird
