Question Wifi Problems on Cingular 8125

I am having issues turning on the Wifi on my Cingular 8125. I have used Wifi before and connected to my home network ok but today when I tried to turn on Wifi in the Comm Manager it just sat there like it was doing something for a long time. I couldn't do anything with it so I turned it off and turned it back on. I tried to turn Wifi on again and it looked like it was going to turn it on but it worked for a few seconds then came back to the Comm Manager screen but Wifi still wouldn't turn on.

Is there any way to see what error it is getting or are there any settings I should check? The only things I can think are that I dropped it a couple days ago and I think this is the first time I've tried to use Wifi since then but everything else works ok so I don't think that is the problem. The other thing is I added a Media Net package to try out GPRS but I took it off after a couple days because I didn't use it. Could cingular have blocked me from turning Wifi on since I took the package off my plan?

Any ideas are appreciated!

did you have the package on when you were able to access the wifi and now that you have removed it ur not able to use the wifi? it is very possible that they have locked you out of using wifi i experienced this same issue with a 8525 once. i however found the settings in a cab. format and have since had no issue. i have uploaded it to this server and the settings cab. for cingular can be found in the download section.

It looks like my issue wasn't with dropping the phone or Cingular blocking Wifi. I was playing with the phone tonight and noticed that my new memory card wasn't showing up in the file explorer. It was working previously so I'm not sure what happened to it so I tried using it in my desktop and it couldn't see the memory card either. On a hunch I decided to try turning the wifi on while the memory card wasn't in the phone and it turned right on. Guess its time to take the memory card back to the store...

if your phone turns on it will most likely run any programs including the camera, wifi, ie, ect. unless u drop it directly on the top of the phone and due some real damage where the wifi antena is
