Major problem at&t 8525

Every time i go into a call on my at&t 8525 (htc hermes) the Internet Explorer button gets accidentally pressed when I hold the phone to my ear and IE will pop up over the controls for the phone, is there anyway to disable this? its very annoying

Try to set the key lock function. You will still be able receive phone calls. However, when you make a call, try avoiding touching the buttons. With some practice...

I had the same problem. I just remapped the IE button by the ear piece. The applet is in Wm5 and you can remap to a new app or turn the button off.

when you are in a call you can acutally hit the power button and it will suspend the phone, the call still stays active but the phone itself is still activated

That is what I did.
Unfortunately, it "costs" a function button.
However, PTTfix provides a mapable 2 function add-on for the PTT button.

The problem discussed was fixed by HTC by removing the top buttons (1 & 2) from the earpiece area, moving them to the 11 function lower navigation button set (now 13 functions) on the just released 8925.

Best,

i had the same problem. its easy to take care of.
Hit start and go to settings.
open the "buttons" icon.
tap the "button 2" which has the picture of IE.
Then where it says 2. Assign a program- tap the down arrow and scroll up and find "<none>" and select it.
When you click ok the IE button on the face will be disabled and wont open IE wen ur the fone or when u pull it out of ur holster. =]]
