I have a Mitac Mio 168 running windows 2003 and have an 802.11b wireless SDIO card. I have tried several times to configure my Mio 168 to be able to use the card to gain internet access. I intend to use it whilst out and about in WIFI hotspots.
Firstly though I need help. I cannot set up my Mio to get internet access. I have tried several times but have had no luck. Can anyone please advise on the correct settings for the Mio. I have tried to get the manual for the 168 from the Mitac website but have been unable to download it. I'll also need to make sure the card is configured correctly too.
I do not have a wireless connection at home, but my neighbours connections are available as I discovered yesterday with a friends laptop. I won't using their access though, I'll just use it to make sure I'm set up properly.
I am not familiar with your particular device but a couple of general things come to mind.
Are you sure the slot is SDIO, not just plain SD? A plain SD slot will not support the network card. The Mitac site should give you technical specs including whether the slot is SD or SDIO.
Do you have any sort of wifi connection management app that came with the card? That can make the process much simpler. If not, folks could point you toward some generic wifi managers to help you.
