Hi,
I have looked over your site (only a newbie) so I hope I am not seeking info already posted. Anyway, I have an i-mate JAMin that had a cracked LCD. I found some instructions on this site about disassebling the device, which was not to hard, and managed to replace the screen with a new one I purchased. My problem now is I am not getting the correct colour display at boot up (its red at the IPLS screen) and at run time. It seems all menus etc have a red background. The device is useable, though the screen display is not good. If kind of looks like 'safe mode' on a PC. Anyone got an idea on this??? I have double checked I bought the correct generation screen, as there is a gen1 and gen2 on the market.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
i had a jamin, you need a T5 screw driver to take it apart, one of the contacts probably isnt aligned, i had the screen do weird things when the ribbon cable wasnt inserted all the way
if you go to google there are websites to show you how to do it, but its simple you can probably just figure it out.

I agree with PR, i've replaced a few LCD's in my time and something like this is nearly always a dodgy connection on the ribbon.
