Hi,
does the "d-Media N-911 PockerPC 2003 SE" has wifi or just gps?
can i use the gps as wifi? (worth asking )
...and if i can't, how to use wifi on it AND still be able to use the sd slot to store data?
thanks
As far as I can tell N911 does not have Wifi. I think your getting GPS and GPRS mixed up. GPRS is a data transmission protocol for mobile networks. Again you don't have this and no, GPS will not do this. There are Wifi memory SD cards like the Amazon.com: SanDisk Connect 256 MB + WiFi SD Card: Electronics but check the site carefully for compatabiltiy. You could do a GPRS connection via IrDA port on the device. All depends how fast a connection you are after? Hope this helps.

do you have a link to a guide on the "GPRS connection via IrDA port"?
thanks
Not really a guide for that. You need to check your mobile phone will act as a GPRS modem over the IrDA port first. If you post the make and model I might be able to advise. if so you then need to create a dialup connection on the PPC which uses the IrDA port on your device to connect. This will create a connection BUT it will be very slow, you will need uninterupted line of sight between the IrDA ports whilst using it. This is something I used to do about 5 years ago and would maybe do at a push now if I had no option, but if money permits I would look for another solution.
PS check your mobile service provider allows you to do a GPRS data connection, some restrict this.
Cheers,
