Buying Cingular 8125, question about MiniSD

I'm buying a Cingular 8125 next week, my buddy just got his 2 days ago and I'm very jealous. I've been lurking in this forum for the last week trying to cram my head with all things relating to the 8125. My question is: Is it supposed to come with a mini SD card? All the specs I see on it say 128rom and 64ram. Is all this built in, not including the miniSD. I've been on the phone with my buddy, and he thought the 64 was the miniSD, but then he popped out his SD and it was a blank (dummy card). So what's up, what is it supposed to come with? Also is 2GB the max sized miniSD it will hold? Final question.... Does it support WPA 2 wifi encryption? We just upgraded to WPA2 at work from wep and I read somewhere that there was an issue with WM 5.0 that some didn't support wpa2.
Any help would be appreciated.
PS... of all the forums that I've lurked around in over the last week, this one is definitely the best. I finally had to register.
I hope my first post isn't too big.....

I can respond regarding the MiniSD question. No, the device does not come with one. Although, it does come with a little plastic piece that stays in the slot when you don't have a card in there. I posted a deal from Fry's Outpost on Mini SD...get yourself one...it's cheap!

make sure the 8125 uses a miniSD and not a microSD. The 8525 uses a microSD.

Thanks that helps, I have a $60 Compusa gift card burning a hole in my pocket. I've been watching their sales hoping to get one cheap. If they don't put one on sale soon, I'll give Fry's a shot. Maybe I'll use my card on a Bluetooth headset instead.

mini sd

About the mini sd, I've heard that they're only supposed to hold a 2gb card, but I have friends that have 4gb cards abd they they they work great. I just ordered one off of ebay for about 35 bucks and I will see for my self if the 8125 recognizes it.

It should be in in about 3 or 4 days, I'll try and keep you posted.

As for my spelling, I'm on my 8125 so if its bad that's whya. and if there are letters in the middle of no where its supposed to be a number, look on your 8125.

First off the 8125 for sure uses a mini sd. I have both and it is definetley a mini sd. I got my 2gb card off of newegg for 22$ shipped but I think they are cheaper now. It will be here later today so I will let you know how it works if you'd like. Also he is corect it doesn't come with card. Also I looked on fry's outpost and I can't seem to find it. Shoot him a link.

Hello to you and everyone else, as far as the microsd, I bought a 2g it works like charm. The 4g does not, the vendor said they'll get back to me sometime soon on that. The $60 certificate better be spent soon, depending where you are, CompUsa may be closing up soon. They did all around the DC, Virginia Metro area.

If you are using the 8125 it's minisd not micro. Just so theres no confusion. Not trying to sound like a know it all but I don't want some to acidentially buy the wrong thing.

I have to admit, if this 4gb mini-sd card doesn't work I will be pretty disapointed in myself. I'll just send it back and get a 2gb if thats what it takes.

If the 8125 only recognizes a 4gb as a 2gb then I wont mind it, I dont want to go through the trouble of ordering a new one :P and it was only $10 more.

I got it today! I'm so happy......

I got my cingular 8125 today!
I was surprised by the size. I checked out the 8525 at the cingular store a couple of weeks ago, but I guess in my mind's eye it kept getting bigger and bigger. until in my mind I was thinking it was way bigger than it actually was. It's not that big, and it fits in my pocket nicely.
I figured out the wifi today, did some ebay and google searches. installed a couple different themes. (kingkong & startrek), took some pictures and videos, and got a 2gb miniSD card. I'm ready to rock and roll now! Thanks to everyone for their help, I was able to hit the ground running.

good choice of device.
Let me just give some info about the the memory that is into your device its called ROM and RAM, this where the Operating systems Windows Mobile 5 and other application addons by your carrier is installed.
The blank SD card thats in the slot is called a dummy card this is use to protect the SD lot....
Lastly windows mobile can support large capacity of SD cards. So you don't have to worry about it. Just enjoy using and installing any application you need, not to mention play some games and music.

Try formatting your card on windows maybe? If it doesn't appear on your pc either, then return it/get it replaced under warranty.
