Question....is there anyplace that you can send your pocket pc to be upgraded?

I ask this because I noticed on the main page the HTC Nike and it states that it has a 2.something mega pix cam. I own the 8125 and already have been superceded by the 8525. As technology keeps getting better and faster, more Pocket PCs are going to flood the market. Now as most home PCs can be upgraded with better parts, why can't Pocket "PC"s also?

It's already hard for me now to know I spent the amount of $$ i did for this product just to see a better product come out that essentially has the same software but just different hardware.
I understand that technology advances so quick...but these Pocket PC are now becoming an attachment to our daily data lives and less in our talking lives, so why shouldn't they get the same data technology treatment? At home if u need better video, u get a new video card. You need more memory, you buy more ram. But with a Pocket PC if you want a better cam, you buy an entire new product.

Now i know i'm speaking from the basic techno idiot stance and don't really know the mechanics behind switching the internals, but is it possible to have a better cam installed on my 8125??

BASStrance,
GREAT questions.

Why, prithy, must we run WinMob 5.0 when just a couple months after 8525 was "the hot ticket," WinMob 6.0 emerges?

So, who has the chutzpah to upgrade these expensive business tools?

Speak to us. . .

Hello guys,

I'll try to answer your questions. First you should know that it's not possible to upgrade your device WM6. It's nowhere available for purchase, unless your device manufacturer or phone operator decides to offer an upgrade. But most of the time they don't since it is more profitable to sell new devices with the new OS. My advice is to check with them.

Regarding the harware part of your questions, you had better check PocketPCTech website. They offer a wide range of services including Repair and Upgrades. You can even purchase a Do-It-Yourself repair Kit on their website.

Let me know if I've answered your questions or not and if you need further info.

Yes and no. The site does offer replacement items but not real upgrade items. I wanted to know about getting an upgraded cam, if not now but at a later date when the pix may be even higher.
