desperate before the Hard reset

Hello everyone
I write you here kind of desperate, suddenly my PDA (VPA compact III by vodafone Germany) comes to do not respond me, I try a soft reseet and the screen comes to be just in white

ActiveSync is not able to connect, the troubleshooter give me the next message ::

Unable to establish a connection between the PC and the device. Get up-to-date solutions to common connection problems. Please click the following link:
If ActiveSync Cannot Receive Data Through Port 990

No additional known issues have been found.
If you are still experiencing problems please send the results to Microsoft to help improve future versions.


the problem, as you can imagine by the title, I did not have a correct recently backup, so if I make a hard reset, I would lose some important info

it is anyway I can acess to the main memory ??.
I success to conect the PDA to the computer showing a "Windows Mobile-based device" but imposible to connect within ActiveSync

any change ??, or do I take it as leanr for next time ??

explore your mobile device from the PC, try to salvage as much data you can and...... hard reset your device
