Using Wi-fi on 8125

Hey guys,

You probably know i'm a newbie to the forum (1 post). To tell you the truth i'm a newbie to the pocket pc itself. I just bought the cingular 8125 today, and read that it can connect to the internet for free (hence why i bought it). I'm having trouble doing so though.

I have done about 10 searches through out the forum on the topic of connecting through wi-fi, and found that each person was having different problems that im not necessarily having but in the scheme of things i can't get it to work.

I don't have any data plan for it but i do want to use specifically the wifi for internet use.

Onto my problem. I have home wireless connection setup, and i want to connect to it via my phone. I've done everything you all have said. Enabled wifi, put in my ssid , also i have a password protected router so i put that in too. Everything seems like it's right, when I click advance tab under wifi settings it says status: associated to network. So i don't understand what the deal is?

Im wondering do i have to do anything in ENROLL or LEAP?

Or must I create a new modem connection under connections, because when I try I don't see anything for wifi...

I'm sorry for the reoccurence of this topic which i've seen has been a large amount of, which is why i searched through the forum before posting this.

Any help would be wonderful thanks guys.

Hi,
If you are getting connected to your router and not getting internet this may help. Tap Start, Settings, Connections, Connections. There, it should say My ISP at the top. If it says MediaNet, tap Advanced tab at the bottom. Tap the drop down box, tap My ISP. Do the same both drop down boxes. OK out.
Hope this helps,
Tedd1
