Since December 12th I had a family plan and I chose 2 TMobile MDA for my husband and me.
I updated the ROM and installed some softs.
We are happy of our MDA but there is something different.
My husband has a connection EDGE and I have a connection GPRS. Why is different? Do I have to demand the same MDA than my husband?
Some phones can only connect to one or the other, and some can use both networks. If you both have different units thatd probably be why. Now if you both have the same unit, then there is some odd issue with yours.
Not that there is much of a speed difference. EDGE is just a slight bit faster. ( and i mean slight )

Now I 've Edge connection! Yesterday I clicked on "Clear Storage" and I had my MDA like the first time. I installed my programs,.... and I saw that I had "E" ....
my husband bought me the blackjack for Xmas as I'm ready for a new PDA. he got early update on our cingular account. I don't really like the screen on the blackjack (i"m 64 and altho I don't need glasses yet - reading the small print is taxing) - and I know thing we I might be able to go with just the pda and forget the internet connections. I almost always have access to a computer and I can deal with the times I don't - any suggestions for a good pda/phone with a screen larger than the blackjack -- more to the size of the 8525, which I was looking at, but too pricey for what I'll use. Help

Not to mention the "G" you saw wasn't meaning you were connecting to "GPRS" per say, you were probably connecting to EDGE as well, just windows 5 didn't show that until the new ROM. A lot of basic handsets have the ability to connect to edge, but still show "g" instead
