Wink Kinda of a newbie...Several problems here..Thx to those leaving no feedback.

I have had my T Mobile MDA for many months now and have finally found time during the holidays to explore forums to research the full capacity and power of my device. Through the browsing of this hardware forum I find some experience the same problems as I:

1) I borrowed by boss's mini SD 2g sandisk so I could familiarize myself with it before I purchase my own. I want to use it to store napster to go music files, pics, programs, and movies for when I travel. But when I put in the slot nothing! It shows not installed; is there a CD that comes with the card when you purchase them to install some kinda driver on the device? I have completed a soft reset and tried to access it via IE to access it that way but there is not even a folder for the card showing. Is this a consistent problem with these devices?

2) I have no incoming ringer! I noticed this a couple of weeks ago that when I have an incoming call there is not ringer; it just seemed to happen without warning. I have looked at the sounds and notifications and there is a ringer assigned.

3) I am seeing several posts regarding the new version of the ROM update. I did download it, but before the install is states it will erase all information on the device, obviously I can re-sync for contact info., but is the way to back up the programs installed to drag on drop them to the card once I get it to work? I have installed and .ftp client and a map search program that I worked hard to install and research so I def do not want to loose this stuff.

Please advise; I apologize, I am in sales so I get long winded and want to make sure I am understood.

the 2gb card works - i've seen people with the same setup...maybe it's the card brand.

otherwise, the card should show up in your file explorer when you pop it in as "Storage Card"

ringer - does it play when you preview it under sounds/notifications? did you try changing it to see if any of the others work?

ROM update - you can back up everything (programs) but I don't know if they'll work after a ROM update, since installing programs writes to the registry...
