I'm in the market to replace my aging Dell Axim X5. I currently use it for the typical schedualing, Email and other such boring tasks. I also use to for Ebooks, games, pictures, movies, online, and music. I don't need it to act as a phone. I'm looking at the Dell Axim X50v. Should I be looking at some other devives? IPaq? Anything have built in GPS?
I would suggest with Dell that you look at the X51v; it is much happier
with WM5 than the 50. Check the Dell refurb page and you might find a good deal. Factory refurbs come with a warranty.
HP has fallen down lately and their most recent releases are real yawners. The words mediocre and disappointing come to mind. You can always add GPS to a capable PPC rather than compromise on the PPC in order to have it include GPS.
I would go with the Dell due to its performance specs and VGA display. Standard QVGA screens have gotten better but none of them can compete with the crispness of VGA.
