The lithium batteries in devices have circuits in-place to prevent overcharging and do not have the same 'memory' as old NiCad and NiMH batteries. In fact, they have problems if you run them to empty. So don't worry; what you're doing is fine.

Another great answer from yankeejeep!

I'd like to add that Li-Ion batteries have a life expectancy somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000 recharges.

Just 1000 recharges BrainC. Well, in a way its good but still tough. I guess now I know why my old Sony phone is playing up sometimes. Never thought the battery but thanks anyway.

I googled your request and it looks like the 8525 might share the same battery as the UTC Starcom/Audiovox 6700 (which is on sprint and verizon) but since the 8525 is so new I don't think it will take long before extended batteries can be found all over.

Hi ho out there. CAN ANY ONE HELP!!
I have an I-mate Pocket PC...
So i have just been sent 2 new replacement batteries (02 XDZll / MDA ll). All are Lion and they dont work? The "back up" side of it charges ok but the "main " battery says "AC only" ?
Can any one enlighten me to what this means?
My existing battery (PH17B) STILL FUNCTIONS AND CHARGES NORMALLY but is getting old and no longer holds the charge for any length of time now (as they do with age)
Cheers for that
