I just made the jump from a Razr to an 8125. My question is twofold.
Can I use the car charger from my Razr for my 8125? Physically the cable would work but I want to make sure that I won't damage the battery in my new 8125. I'm not sure how different the batteries are and if you need a specific charger NOT to damage the batter.
Can I use an old data cable from a Canon camera to hook my 8125 to my pc? Again, the connections would physically work but because the data cable also charges the battery I want to make sure that I'm not damaging my 8125.
If the data cable is USB on both ends, it should be ok.
However, I'd stay away from using the car charger as it might supply a different voltage than what your 8125 needs..unless you know the exact voltage that it supplies.
The voltages supplied by mini USB devices are supposed to be standard. But sods law you always get one that isn't. Here is what you are supposed to get:
I would check the voltage and more importantly the amps thrown out by your wall chargers and see how they compare to start with. I use the same USB car charger for a Blackberry, iPod, Orange SPV C600 and a RED SLVR with no trouble, but this is no guarantee, do so at your own risk!!!!
