I just signed up with cingular today and ordered my 8125. I was very excited about it untill I found out that the 8525 is coming out very VERY soon!
I am debating wheather or not i should cancel my order of the 8125 and get the 8525..... any suggestions? Is the 8525 that much better or is it still too new to really know.
I almost purchased the Sprint 6700 last year and was wondering how the 8125/8525 compare.
Get the 8525. I have the HTC TyTN (upon which the 8525 is based) and it is amazing. I have played around with the 8125 and it seems like a fisher price version compared to the TyTN. No offense to the 8125, but the contrast will be evident.
This is a great forum. I was about 30 minutes from ordering an upgrade phone of the 8125 via Cingular's website. My GF's dad has one and I think it is the neatest thing in the world. I didn't even know there was an 8525 coming out.
Cingular is selling the 8125 for $250 with 2-year contract (with the $100 rebate included)
Does anyone have any idea when the 8525 is coming out? How much it will cost to someone like me who already has a regular phone account with Cingular (V180 -please don't laugh).
Is it going to be around $400? Will the price of the 8125 drop? Right now I really want to get one (retail therepy) but I don't want to buy right before a newer/better model comes out -I could probably live with the 8125 as I am still using an IBM TP770z for a laptop but if the price is going to drop I don't want to buy it now. If the 8525 is THAT much better and will be of similar price or just $10 or 150 more I might go for that too.

Any news?
The Cing 8525 launched on schedule, 16November.
Four came, I got one.
It is a 400mhz machine, same form factor (+/-) 8125, 2x processor speed.
Over weekend it was a "handful" as I switched from Palm OS 4 to the "DarkSide." Today, Day #4, I am winning and LIKING. It is a KILLER machine.
Cingular wants $399 ($450, $50 mail-in rebate). If you switch carriers (I did) another $100 comes off; $299 for this BEAST! is a bargain. . . IMNHO
Good luck getting one.
You will love it, I think.
Best,
PP
