Memory Card Help

Ok so I have a 2 gig memory card and decided to pack it down with MP3s. I coul shove about 97 songs on it then it wouldn't take any more. However, I go to look at the card on a flash drive usb thingy and it says i used 829 MB and still have 1.09 GB left. If i have so much space, why can't i put more songs on the card?

Anyone have any clues?

Im having same problem
someone told me to format to FAT instead of 32 which allowed me to fill it up to just over a gig, but still not to the full capacity
i even tried using a program to partition the card, which essentialy mean splitting it in 2 so the device thinks theres 2 cards inserted even tho there it on, but again i could only fill it so far!
so any one that could help us out with any other method would be great cheers!

BassTrance, have you tried filling it with other types of files other then mp3's? Try filling it with pictures to the max. See what happens. On another note, to the thread jacker (:P), I think the max is 2GB.

I go into FILE EXPLORER and look at the storage card and it already had a FILES TO BE DELETED,WMDRM,PROGRAM FILES and WINDOWs folders in them. I did try transfering some pics from the phone to the card so that I can transfer them by th reader but it only placed a couple in the card because lack of space. So that shows that it isn't based on the type of file. I'm confused and bothered that I'm not getting the full use of my card.

confused and bothered? we can't have that. try deleting all the mp3s and strting over transfering them through the pc directally onto the phone with the card in it. those card readers are nogood. or try another card, maybe you got a bad one...

Well, I just got my 2g memory card today and ran into a similar problem. I was only able to put about 500mb on it before it was telling me it was full. I'm loading it from my pc to my 8125. I decided to to just erase the whole card and start over. While I was reloading I came across this thread. Now I have over 1g on it and it seems to be working the way it's supposed to.

Did you reformat the card, or just delete all files that are in there? Have you loaded more then 1g worth on it yet to see if it hits the full 2g? If you deleted all files and folders on it, can u still load prgram files on it. I notice it has folders for programs and such. Will it naturally go looking for those folders to place programs, or will it just dump them anywhere?

I did not reformat the card, just selected everything through the "windows file explorer" on my pc and pressed delete. I noticed the files too, I think the phone puts them on there, because they are back. I am just dragging and dropping the files back on the card. In the intrest of finding out I'm packing the card with music, video, podcasts. It actually is taking a bit to fill it up, but I currently have over 1.7g (still loading) on it.

Edit
Final result: 8125 says
Total storage: 1914.13mb
In Use : 1907.13mb
Free: 7.00mb

And the files appear to be working.

Yeah i just reformated the card and it wiped it clean. Now I can load it up with more stuff then I could before. But i'll see what happens when I try to install a program on it.
