My office has no WiFi or cell phone recption because it is located three levels underground. What I'd like to do is plug something into my desktop's USB that will allow my 8125 to connect to its internet server via either WiFi or Bluetooth.
What I'd like this for mostly is to attempt to connect with Skype so that I can use my cell phone in my underground office.
I have a bluetooth dongle... but I can't figure it out. A WiFi dongle may do the trick. But I am wondering... does this WiFi dongle connect the unit that it is plugged into to a WiFi being broadcast? Or does it broadcast the existing internet connection over WiFi? I need it to do the latter.
Hi bclancy3, When you say WiFi dongle, are you talking about a USB drive that has WiFi in it? If thats the case then what ever you plug that USB Wifi thing into will allow that device to connect to a wifi connection. To my knowledge it does not broadcast a WiFi connection. You have a bluetooth dongle?
Its a tutorial on how to connect your phone to the computer via bluetooth and use it as an internet connection, your situation is kind of backwards of the tutorial but it might help you so that you can use your phone for skype using the computers internet connected via bluetooth.
