Ipaq Rw6828 Slow!!!

Hi!
I just bough a HP ipaq rw6828 and it it SLOW. I work for the last three year with a hp 1910 and even thou this is a old modell now it was way faster than the new rw6828.

Is this normal? The feature are great but the speed is a letdown. Anything I can do to get this think faster.

E.G. when I click on "Calendar" it takes 5 secs. before it even opens etc.

Help please ...

Sounds bad, I'd try a hard reset first thing. See if it's any faster after that. (Note, it'll wipe all your data)

Beyond that try navigating to /Windows/StartUp and seeing if there's anything you can kill. You should be able to see what each item is by searching its name on google.

Thanks for the asnwer...

I tried the hard reset a coupld of day ago and it appreas to be a bit faster but I am still somehow disappointed as I worked with a h1910 before (by now about 4 years old and that thing was much faster that the new device.

I have a look in the startup folder and found the following items:

BTICON
poutlook
SSActivate.exe
StartSAT
VCDaemon

Can I disable any of these?

One more thing: The sound of the telephone on the earplugs is not very clear. Do you have the same problems? Is this normal?

Cheers, Mark

I would try deleting the bottom 3, soft-resetting and seeing if it is any faster. The top two shouldn't be bothering speed. If any of those bottom 3 are important you can always hard-reset to get them back.

(By the way, what are you doing on it that is slow? Like, what kind of programs are you running?)
