It would be wonderful to get my IPAQ hooked up to broadband internet. Getting tired of the hunt for free Wifi spots. Any other advice on using my Wifi would be appreciated.
I know sprint will soon have a USB broadband card for mobile internet, so I'm sure there's a way out there to link up the ipaq to a usb adapter, or at least there will be.
Most WM devices can only function as USB clients, so the USB solution will not work with them. If your device is one of the few models (alas, iPaqs are not among them) that support USB host functions, then this would be an option once a driver is developed. For others, the solution will require using a CF card (like Ratoc's) to have USB host function and hoping that it is compatible with the USB dongle.
An issue for all may be that the dongle is likely to require USB 2.0 support like most higher-speed wifi dongles. I'm not sure if Ratoc or other adapter makers are there yet.
