I've just got an HTC Hermes in it's orange SPV guise and also go free wireless broadband when I got the phone. Now, I should be able to patch into my wireless internet with my SPV, it seems to pick up the livebox and display its name but then it just displays 'connecting', it never actually seems to connect. Where an I going wrong here? Anyone know?
I just got the Cingular 8125 PPC, and I'm having a similar WiFi problem as yours. I rejected Cingular's Data Plan offer, and decided that I would use my home wireless router for my WiFi connection, but the problem is, I can't get my WiFi to work and connect to my router. I've searched all over the forums, and googled all over, I can't seem to find help on how to set up my WiFi with my router. My router says its "[Security-Enabled]".
I took off all the Media Net connection settings because I don't want to use the edge connection.
When I turn on WiFi, I see my router name (I had named it wire) as "wire [Security-Enabled]". My Cingular 8125 was able to detect it, so I pick my router and click Okay. Now a window pops up saying "wire [Security-enabled]" network connects me to: 1) The Internet (or work via a VPN) or 2) Work.
I pick 1) and press Connect. Now it says Network Key required. I enter the network key (not sure what it is, I think its the pw I enter with my laptop's wireless connection), and it tries to connect. Then it fails to connect I think because it doesn't work. I check Network Cards and I would see my router with "Unavailable" next to it. I click on it and remove settings, it would tell me its Available now. So I click on it again, and click Connect. It says Connecting for awhile, then it flashes to Unavailabe. The icon changes from a 4 greenbars + a lock to a Radio signal with a red light. I don't know how to set up my phone's settings or my router's setting so they could connect =(.
